Sermon Title: "Get Off His Throne" (Luke 15:17-24)
Sermon Outline:
1. If Jesus examine the throne of your heart today, would he find himself ruling there - or simply being consulted when you need help?
2. What area of your life is hardest for you to surrender to God? What do you think that reveals about what you trust most?
3. The first temptation in the garden was the temptation to become our own authority. In what ways are you still tempted to decide for yourself instead of trusting God's's wisdom?
4. Have you mistaken belief in Jesus for surrender to Jesus? What is the difference between knowing who Christ is and allowing him to truly be Lord of your life?
5. What would change if your marriage, your family, your work, your recovery, or your ministry if you truly believed that Jesus is better at being LORD than you are?
