Sermon Title: "Don't Build The Wall & Break The People" (Nehemiah 5:1-19)
1. Who might be quietly hurting while you are congratulating yourself on how well things are going?
2. Have you labeled someone "difficult" because listening to their concern would require you to change.?
3. Whose dependability have you mistaken for permission to keep taking? What responsibility should you begin sharing?
4. What arrangement have you defended as fair simply because it benefits you? How might it look from the other person's position?
5. Can people under your influence tell you the truth, without fearing punishment, rejection, or a lecture about their faith?
6. What harm have you asked God to forgive while avoiding the practical repair you could begin?
7. Does your help leave people with greater dignity - or feeling indebted to your approval and obligated to follow your advice?
8. If God measured your progress by how you treated people along the way, what would need to change in what you were building?
